Jeff Pinkner reveals to Blog Critics that FOX’s encoure presentation of Fringe tonight–Sunday, September 14th at 8/7c–will be hosted by Joshua Jackson and Anna Torv. I know I will be watching, and you should too!
Pinkner explained that not only will series stars Joshua Jackson (Peter [Bishop]) and Anna Torv (Olivia Dunham) host the rebroadcast, FOX will also show “the first act of episode two at the tail end of the pilot.” The second episode, titled “The Same Old Story,” will deal with an investigation into the deaths of a woman who experiences a vastly accelerated pregnancy and what the press release describes as a “senior citizen” newborn. FOX will start the ball rolling on the evening with an exclusive first look at a scene from The Day The Earth Stood Still, followed by a preview of 24: Redemption, the two-hour standalone special episode of 24 coming in November. — Blog Critics
A cool video that takes a look at the making of the Fringe Pilot as well as brief character descriptions of Olivia Dunham and Peter Bishop straight from the cast.
The narrator of the video describes Fringe as an action packed show with an x-files theme as well as takes a look at many of the stunts performed in the episode while describing the outline of the Fringe TV program.
J.J. Abrams’ Fringe was one of the most anticipated shows of 2008, not only because of Abrams’ name attached to it, but because of the sci-fi elements, it was definitely expensive as to make and promote the amount that Fox did. The Fringe Pilot caught the eye of millions and left them wanting more and unable to wait until next weeks episode, but until then, here are promo images and a brief plot outline of the next two episodes: S01E02 “Same Old Story”:
Olivia, along with Peter and Walter Bishop, investigates the strange death of a woman who had an even stranger child. The woman was pregnant for only hours, yet the baby she birthed was fully developed - and also aged eighty years in the span of a few minutes. Olivia asks Nina Sharp of Massive Dynamic for help.
S01E03 “Ghost Network”:
A man who has visions of the future is introduced. He sees a pattern-related terror attack and the team, led by Dr. Bishop, tries to prevent this event from occurring.
Also both episodes will soon be available for Download!

The first episode of the Fringe TV series aired last night and I can say without a doubt that Fringe has the potential to become the best TV show of 2008. From beginning to end I was hanging off the edge of my seat watching the endless action mixed with stunning intelligence and imagination.. Jason Bourne meets Lost? J.J. Abrams and crew really outdid themselves this time and I cannot wait till next week!

Episode 1×01 “Pilot” will be airing at 8:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, September 8th.
“In a nutshell, the pilot follows Fed agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) as she investigates a bizarre apparent terrorist attack on a plane. When one of her colleagues becomes infected by whatever was behind the massacre on that jet, Dunham takes drastic action to save his life – and for that she needs screwed-up child prodigy Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) to get his estranged, mad scientist father Walter (John Noble) out of an institution.
The pilot really is a rollercoaster ride, full of action, double-crossings, great dialogue and the troubled father-son relationships we’ve seen in Lost. If the full-length series can keep up this momentum, we’re going to be very happy bunnies indeed.”
Crowd-pleasing JJ Abrams, cocreator of Lost, helped brainstorm this big-budget paranormal-slash-conspiracy series, and it shows. The intrigue starts with FBI agent Olivia Dunham (Aussie newcomer Anna Torv) and her partner/love (Boston Public’s Mark Valley) investigating a bizarrely horrific plane crash. After he is infected while following a lead, Olivia seeks clues to save him — and opens the door to a world of highly guarded knowledge. Helping her: a dotty genius (John Noble) and his son (Dawson’s Creek’s Joshua Jackson, initially stiff in his TV return). To say that the opener’s last few minutes threaten to overcomplicate things would be nitpicking: Thanks to stupendous twists, brainy wit and instantly gripping characters, Fringe is bound to be a thrilling ride. And with Torv, it mints a major talent. She bristles with quiet intensity and palpable curiosity.
“Fox’s Fringe is the most anticipated show of the year. TV.com gets the inside scoop straight from the source–the show’s producers.
Every fall television season has one heavy hitter that stands out above the rest. The can’t-miss hit that’s sure to be a ratings smash. The kind of program that restores faith in those who think TV is going down the toilet. A show that viewers don’t TiVo–they watch it *gasp* live. Unless you are a teenage girl (in which case The CW’s 90210 is your anticipated program), that show this year is Fox’s Fringe.”
